MIDNIGHT OVERLOOK...

Our cult The Shining inspired Overlook hat was the very first time anybody had the idea of putting that geometric pattern into clothing, many have since followed our lead. BUT we're not done with that, following our recent shirts, shorts and summer hats and socks, the Overlook returns in a brand new special edition.
Things have got a little darker, Blue hues replace the famous garish carpet colours. It takes it's name 'Midnight' from the chilling final scene of the movie with the accompanying Al Bowlly and Ray Noble and His Orchestra song. It's finally here and online Tuesday 30th Jan at 7pm.

NHS TRIBUTE WEIR...

Over the years we've carved out some rather unique ideas for our Weir hats, be it oscure or famous movie carpets, transport upholstery patterns or various random ideas from afar. This one is in that familiar CC vein but also with a bigger meaning behind it. This one pay's tribute to arguably Britain's greatest institution, The National Health Service.
The National Health Service began under Clement Atlee's Labour government in 1945. Founded and set up by then Health Minister Nye Bevan. The NHS was born out of the ideal that good healthcare should be available to all, regardless of wealth.
At its launch by Bevan on 5 July 1948 it had at its heart three core principles:
That it meet the needs of everyone, that it be free at the point of delivery, and that it be based on clinical need, not ability to pay.
A fantastic and solid idea that one would imagine would be championed and celebrated and without doubt be "the institution which more than any other unites our nation".
Sadly, the NHS has been raped and destroyed by a Tory party hellbent on selling it off to the private sector and in the current climate the destruction thus far, has culminated in it's worse state it's ever been in. Even Thatcher didn't do as much damage as this current woeful government has.
An absolute insult and crying shame to all the hardworking doctors, nurses and staff who provide amazing patient care going above and beyond expectations, whilst effectively having their pay cut over the last 7 years. Anyway you don't need me to tell you all that, it's clear for all to see.
With that in mind, we felt this winter, we should pay tribute to the NHS and more so help raise awareness and join the campaign to to help save the NHS. The pattern is based on a standard NHS hospital gown which if you've ever been admitted overnight or for an operation you'll have had one of these on.
We will be donating a share of the spoils as with previous fund raising Weirs to a registered NHS charity/fundraising group once all is sorted. Whilst this is merely a drop in the ocean, the hat may hopefully raise some extra awareness, every little helps.
The hat will go online this Thursday at the usual time of 7pm (GMT)

SHERLOCK #6

Elementary! The classic Deerstalker hat returns for a sixth edition, and once again there's no messing about here! What can you say about this hat? Sherlock Holmes' famous 'ear-flapped travelling cap', an old school casual staple, an acquired taste? definitely! Casual luxury at it's finest.
We've done something a bit different once again, with a multi coloured glorious Donegal Tweed. Features include our small woven label to the peak, leather ties and of course fold down ear flaps and two peaks for the price of one. Just look at all those colours. Made just for us by long standing hat manufacturers (Est. 1898). Only the best will doodle do!
