Whilst the kids are sure to be salivating and probably queuing up overnight for the forthcoming Adidas Cities range, where Malmo, Brussels, et al have now seemingly upped sticks and become London. I prefer these from the somewhat unsung true masters of the training shoe New Balance - the new Sonic Welded 574 range, which is a slightly revolutionary approach to producing footwear. Each shoe has been produced using Sonic Welding, an application of heat and pressure that bonds the shoe’s components together in an airtight and watertight manner. This process minimizes sewing, eliminates gluing, and reduces material waste. New Balance claims it is the first brand to utilize Sonic Welding for athletic footwear manufacture. These nice and simple shoes come in some proper trainer colour variants too. CD
