THIS IS ENGLAND '86

So the first publicity stills surface for Shane Meadows' This Is England sequel.
"This Is England '86". An ambitious four-part miniseries for Channel 4 due to hit screens in Autumn.
It follows the bulk of the original cast four years on - with this time the focus more on the ensemble than just young Shaun (Thomas Turgoose) in the bleak mid 80s with the Mexico World Cup and over 3 million unemployed!
There are also early plans to follow it up four years later with a "This is England '90" rumoured. The series which given who's on board should be in the vein of recent great TV Red Riding rather than that Lock Stock bollocks, I'm sure it will be. The first two hour long episodes are to be directed by Shane Meadows and the latter two by Tom Harper (Scouting Book for Boys) with the series written by Meadows and Jack Thorne (Skins)
