It's not every day I'd happily pay a fiver for a piece of rubble, but this isn't any old bit of concrete, this relic is a small chunk of the Gateshead Trinity Square multi storey car park, a beautiful brutalist blot on the North East landscape designed by Rodney Gordon in 1962. This place will be familiar to many from the epic 1971 film Get Carter in which several key scenes were shot, most notably when Michael Caine chucked 'Alf Roberts' to his death from it. Now demolished, Gateshead council recently sold off chunks of the building, which I believe have now sold out. I think in a typical sign of the times, a Tesco will be built in it's place.
